Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights was initially published in London in 1847 by Thomas Cautley Newby. It comprised the first two volumes of a three-volume set, with the third volume being Anne Brontë's Agnes Grey. The authors were credited by their pseudonyms, Ellis Bell (Emily) and Acton Bell (Anne). Emily Brontë's real name wasn't revealed until 1850, when it appeared on the title page of a later commercial edition.
