The August Audiobook Releases We're Excited About

Posted by Jolene Barto on

Ah, August. This month – to quote the best romcom of all time, You’ve Got Mail (yes, I’ll fight you if you want to argue the merits of this film) - makes me “want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”

It may still be Hades-hot here at Page Chaser HQ, but the last days of the season are looming, school is back in session, and our wonderful intern takeover of the Page Chaser Instagram is coming to an end.

August is also the month of some AMAZING audiobooks. This is not a drill, because these August audiobook releases are truly some of my “most anticipated” of the year list and the best thing? I think there’s something for everywhere, whether you’re looking for some motivation, inspiration, or just a darn good story.

So, let's get into these August Audiobook releases:

Boss Up! by Lindsay Teague Moreno

I will 1000% fully admit that I am not a business lady. Yes, I work at a business, but P&Ls give me anxiety. But author Lindsay Teague Moreno is ready to guide you no matter where you are in the business sphere. Feeling “adult guilt” about chasing your dreams? Moreno says STOP THAT NONSENSE. Need some down-to-earth yet groundbreaking marketing advice? Moreno is your gal. Ready to set some goals? Boss Up will help you find out how to practically lay those out. Plus, real talk, this book is FUNNY. Moreno’s narration of the audiobook has her even giggling at some of her own jokes, which is too charming for words.

Consumed by Hate, Redeemed by Love by Thomas A. Tarrants

This is redemption story that feels extremely timely. Thomas begins his life as an angry and violent extremist who tries to commit unthinkable crimes for the Ku Klux Klan and becomes a man completely turned around by Christ (and he’s now the president of C.S. Lewis Institute). This story is about love winning out over hate. It’s beautiful.

The Silence Between Us by Alison Gervais

This is a truly unique own-voices novel: When deaf teen Maya is forced to attend a hearing school, she is determined to not let anything get in her way, including feelings for the class overachiever Beau. If you love a romance that is rendered believably and you just like good writing (Alison Gervais is a fantastic writer), then you’ll want to catch The Silence Between Us. Plus, I am a petty, small person and I think this book cover is STUNNING. Don’t you agree?

How to Have Your Life Not Suck by Bianca Juarez Olthoff

I feel like the title spells it out for you, but Bianca is truly your friend in this book. She’s not here to tell you like it is – she’s here to make you see how it could be. It’s all about the love y’all, and I feel it in this audiobook.

Aren't these August audiobook releases awesome? What book is on your TBR list?
